[The sound of the rain really is soothing, even if his mouth feels dry from the lack of water they can drink. It's been a few hours by now and while he's legs feel uncomfortable due to the wet clothes stuck there, he's warming up nicely while pressed against his best friend.

Alongside the rain there's a steady thud against his ear from Oikawa's heartbeat. It's not intentional, but somehow during their nap his head has slumped a little to nestle there.

It takes a few minutes for him to wake up properly, blearily looking at their surroundings to check everything is alright. So far, nothing has happened and the mistake of falling asleep doesn't seem to be a problem. So far, anyway. After a few extra minutes he glances up, trying to shift without waking Oikawa up too. First and foremost they need to figure out what to do from here, that's why.]

[He jerks slightly at the use of his given name, rather than the dreadful nickname Oikawa still refuses to get rid of. He forces out a breath after, but it's not before he feels how close Oikawa has gotten and it does make his heart rate pick up. It would be difficult not to react.]

I'm glad they aren't. No one needs to see this.

[Look at the state they're in for a start. His skin feels hot now, especially now Oikawa is being weird about it all.]

You need to stop being so careless. [It's said quietly, like something he's said a million times already and something Oikawa has ignored a million and one times already. Useless. Pointless.]

[pinpointing]

[Shifting his arms with a softer chuckle, leaning to bump his nose against his temple, Oikawa watches him with that smile remaining. Now is probably not the best time to tell him, but there's a wonder of the next time they will ever get to be alone like this. There's just a sense of dread outside this place that he doesn't want to go back to.

But they'll have to go back eventually. They can't stay here forever, no matter how warm and dry and safe he feels with Iwaizumi.]

What am I doing that's so careless now, I'm just sitting here breathing!

[It's an automatic reaction when his head slowly bumps back, just enough to be felt, and it's so gentle compared to most of the other touches he gives the other. It's peaceful here, that's for sure.]

That's bad enough. [This time, however, there's a faint twitch to his own mouth. He doesn't mean it at all, and it's fine that Oikawa knows that.]

Your legs aren't numb, are they? [He has no idea how long they've been like this after all.]

[pinpointing]

No, my legs are fine. It's my butt that has a bucket indent in it by now.

[That little bump is all he needs to know that everything is still fine. Even if they're half bare and huddling under a dirty blanket, anything he might want to do is just as natural as they've always been. 100% in sync since they were toddlers. Shutting his eyes and smiling much warmer than before, Oikawa turns his head just the bit more to lean in and plainly kiss where his nose had been nuzzling.]

Is that something you can fix without getting up?

[That's what he gets for taking the bucket when the floor would have been fine too. Still as cramped, but at least that way they could have huddled without all of Iwaizumi's weight on him too. It's amusing though, because while that can't be uncomfortable... it's Oikawa suffering for it. Sort of.]

If your ass is attached to it what do you expect me to do?

[Don't be stupid, of course it isn't something he can fix.]

Kiss and make it better.

[He kisses his temple again with a beaming expression; half glad Iwai didn't react, and half wanting him to react. Really, he wanted him to react positively if anything. His words had a cheeky grin spreading across his cheeks though, and Oikawa didn't mind any bit of suffering to make Iwaizumi honestly more comfortable between the two of them. He did a lot for him as it was.]

[This time he does pull away though, giving him a dry look for his attempts. There's no anger to his expression, which is something, but there is a little apprehension. As though Oikawa is taking a game too far and he doesn't have the heart to tell him off for it.

Not when it concerns their friendship. A quick joke about not trusting him is different, because they both know that isn't true. This though...]

Maybe if I kick it you'll get some life into it.

[He's not going to kiss it??????]

[pinpointing]

Kiss me instead, not my butt, you dope.

[Sticking his lower lip out in a little pout, but ready to back off and play it as a joke if Iwai gives him that expression again, Oikawa curled his arms a little tighter and slumped against him, head going down onto his shoulder.]

[It's just the situation is what he tells himself. It's easier to think that with those words swimming around in his head, but the arms tightening around him, making it harder to breathe, say otherwise.

He swallows hard, tensing up as his gaze shifts towards the spade they almost slammed into earlier, moves up to the shelves with all the garden equipment.

His hands feel sweaty.]

Oikawa?

[He can try and play it off as a joke, but really everything is already out there on the table -- Iwaizumi was always able to tell the difference between his facade and when he's being genuine.]

[pinpointing]

[Oikawa quieted when he felt the tension shift, when it went from the teasing playful nonsense they always engage in and Iwai was getting serious. Aah, he was really going to ask. Turning his head away so Iwaizumi couldn't see his face, Oikawa tried to keep himself relaxed from what might be coming. He played a little too close to the edge, whoops.]

Hmmm? [Drawing out the response and simply curling his fingers loosely against the blanket, against Iwai's back, he waited.]

Oi, look at me.

[He reaches up too, even if he's not sure what he's going to do yet. All he knows is that he can't make a decision like this, with Oikawa refusing to meet his gaze. He can feel his hands shift at his back, and the fact that he seems...nervous?

It's a little heartwarming.]

If you're being serious, don't hide away. I need to know.

[So his hand reaches around for his chin, trying to pull him up again so he can see him. He doesn't force him either though, just gives him a nudge in the right direction.]

[pinpointing]

[Shit. He could really tell. Sure, Iwai knows him better than anyone else, but it surprises Oikawa sometimes still. Tensing and not budging for a few moments, honestly suddenly embarrassed of himself for so boldly making a request like that, he slowly lifts his head with his ears coloring. Oikawa tried to hide behind an overly big smile, chuckling when he finally meets Iwaizumi's eye.]

[His mouth feels dry all of a sudden, and it's not from all the salt water or the lack of water for a long while. His thumb reaches out, swiping over his bottom lip as a frown forms on his face.]

Don't fake it.

[Not right now anyway, while he's trying to actually see his best friend. His stomach flops around and really for the most part he's dense about this kind of stuff but...



...but does he really want that?]

[pinpointing]

You don't have to if you don't want to, Iwa-chan.

[That swipe across his lower lip just colors his ears darker, the pink spreading into his cheeks even as his expression doesn't change - it just relaxes into something warmer. Oikawa was looking at him with honest affection under that big embarrassed smile.]

[When it softens that's when he knows this is real. His breath actually hitches in his throat, held down by sheer willpower so Oikawa doesn't have something over him.]

Shut up, I'm thinking.

[Because if he does this they've definitely Crossed A Line. He can't think of a time when things haven't been a little more different for them than other friends they know though. When touches linger longer than necessary. When they've been willing to curl up like this.

He doesn't recognise it, but his hand is shaking against Oikawa's jaw as he leans in.

Don't regret this don't regret this is on repeat in his head when their noses bump. Breath tickles at Oikawa's mouth and he has no idea where he's even supposed to aim here which is why the first, brief contact is at the corner of his mouth.]

[That smile quiets down so quickly when he feels Iwaizumi's hand shivering against his skin, but it's the movement forward that makes his eyes lower down to watching his mouth come in closer, watching the way he moves so gently - and that tickle of breath makes his lips part with a soft surprised hitch of his own.

He shouldn't be greedy, he should accept that so warm gesture that made his skin burn, but Oikawa feels his head turning just that little bit to line their mouths up properly and brush his lips in an almost kiss.]

[His mouth tingles even before Oikawa moves his head to line them up and then they feel like they're on fire. He's not the type to flush easily, but there's a hint of it on his skin now as his hand reaches back, curling into brown hair as a means of support.

He wants to warn him that he has no idea which direction they're supposed to go, but as soon as it starts he finds he falls into pattern with him anyway. His head tilts in the opposite direction and while he doesn't press harder, he doesn't pull away at all.]

[With Iwai's hand curling into his hair, Oikawa's eyes fall shut and he decides if he really didn't want to kiss him he wouldn't, and just plunges forward. Closing the rest of that gap to genuinely kiss him, to pucker his lips against Iwaizumi's and really feel the fact that his mouth was so soft, he exhaled the breath he didn't realize he had been holding.]

Hajime. [It's a mere whisper against his mouth, but Oikawa is already beginning to smile.]

[It's more intense than he'd imagined, though maybe that's because it feels like all the weight comes at once and his heart can't keep up in the same way. His body feels hotter than it should, even if the dirty blanket is responsible for some of that.

It's not until he hears his name being whispered that his other hand comes up, sneaking between them to rub at his own face. He's trying to fight off embarrassment, but even his lips are twitching up.]

Don't sound so happy. [He doesn't mean that though, that's for sure. Oikawa is much more attractive like this, glowing because he's genuinely happy.]

[pinpointing]

I can't help it!

[Breaking into downright giddy giggles and reaching up to gently push Iwai's hand out from between them, Oikawa is dipping in again to kiss him a second time - just that soft simple easy motion, the same as the last because just that alone makes him too happy. Funny, that this is the only kind of thing he would ever want.]

You can't tell me you aren't smiling, I'll call you a liar.

[There isn't much in the way of a fight when Oikawa tugs his hand down, though he doesn't have much of an idea of where to put it. In the end of drops against Oikawa's skin, making him overly aware of the condition they're caught in.

They're a mess.] Keep it up and I'll push you off the bucket. [It's not an empty threat, not exactly, but he'll also fall off if he tried something like that.]

[pinpointing]

If I fall, I'm taking you with me.

[There's a third kiss before Oikawa has had enough, his face is burning red and he can't keep it up without the constant smile. Shifting his arms to pull Iwaizumi in close and hide his face down on his shoulder again, Oikawa just stayed like that.]

[He breathes out, or at least forces himself to as it feels like it's stopped for a moment. His neck feels warm, even if Oikawa isn't properly touching there and it's shoulder that's being buried against. His hands press against Oikawa's back, rubs slow yet somehow sure circles against the skin.]

Grip the blanket.

[It's a warning, anyway, because if they don't straighten out soon he might lose his own legs to numbness.]

[pinpointing]

[Relaxing his arms if only to shift his grip from Iwai to the blanket while still loosely draping them around him, Oikawa lifts his head slowly so he can move with him when he does stand; he's not about to let Iwai go cold just to get feeling back in his legs.]

[As soon as the words are out of his mouth he wants to regret it. He's not sure how to pull this off, but one things is for certain--he needs help.]

Grip my shoulder with one hand, you only need one for the blanket.

[He takes a deep breath, grateful that he can rely on Oikawa to trust him completely with this. One hand grips at the other teens back as he shifts his legs, pressing his knees down to the floor. It's easier than trying to move up then squirm around, anyway. At least he's off Oikawa's lap now.]

Ready? [Whether he's ready or not he pulls Oikawa tight to himself, pushing him up just enough to get the room to pull the bucket out from under his ass. His head buries against his chest as he pushes that away, hand then reaching out for the floor so he can lower the other to it. He's careful to not drop him at this point, lest it spoil the mood they've got going on here.]
