[The sound of the rain really is soothing, even if his mouth feels dry from the lack of water they can drink. It's been a few hours by now and while he's legs feel uncomfortable due to the wet clothes stuck there, he's warming up nicely while pressed against his best friend.

Alongside the rain there's a steady thud against his ear from Oikawa's heartbeat. It's not intentional, but somehow during their nap his head has slumped a little to nestle there.

It takes a few minutes for him to wake up properly, blearily looking at their surroundings to check everything is alright. So far, nothing has happened and the mistake of falling asleep doesn't seem to be a problem. So far, anyway. After a few extra minutes he glances up, trying to shift without waking Oikawa up too. First and foremost they need to figure out what to do from here, that's why.]

[Oikawa is still blissfully asleep, half slouched around his best friend with his face having been tucked against his hair - it really is the movement that bumps his nose and makes him wake enough to lift his head. It doesn't last long though, because with some sleepy mumbles, he's already sinking back into that deep slumber, trying to snuggle in again as if his back doesn't have a mild ache and his butt feels numb from how he is seated on a bucket still.

At least any numbness isn't cold related - he couldn't be warmer.]

[There's a tiny noise of protest as he tries to get more comfortable, because while the other teen might not mind being cramped into an awkward position he does. It's difficult to do that though while being used as a substitute for a teddy bear.

He glares at the wall, hates the fact that he can't bring himself to wake Oikawa up just yet, and tries to stretch out slowly. He tries to pull his arms back so he can roll his shoulders, using his legs to try and keep steady in the meantime. This can only end in disaster, really.]

[pinpointing]

Iwa-chan, you're a good heater..

[Murmuring again even as his head slips down to Iwai's shoulder, Oikawa just shifts to tuck his face in against his neck, rubbing his nose into place and ending up with a pleased smile; he doesn't need to wake up to know who he's clinging to. It was natural, there was nothing to fear. Iwai was here. It was probably a mildly childish thought, but Oikawa always knew he'd be fine so long as Iwaizumi was fine, because Iwai would take care of him.

His arms do loosen at all those slow attempts to stretch out, slowly starting to wake despite wanting to stay asleep and despite Iwaizumi's attempts to let him keep sleeping, he yawns without lifting his head.]

[His shoulder bumps up a little following the yawn, simply because of the rush of warm air against his skin. At the same time he rolls his other shoulder, wiggling his fingers and letting his arm drop to let blood into his fingertips.]

You stopped sneezing, anyway.

[That's the important thing, after all. They don't actually have access to medical supplies and he's willing to bet there isn't a decent school nurse here. So he sighs. At least Oikawa warmed up well enough.]

It's probably cold outside of here though. [Outside of the little cocoon they made for themselves. The rain is still falling, of course, but somehow that's unsurprising at this point.]

All thanks to your care.

[Lifting his head again after Iwai tries to stretch again, Oikawa just yawns a second time and turns his head, sitting up straight and making a face when his spine re-aligns with some crunching sounds. Nghhh, but it felt so nice even if it made such a gross noise. Sitting up does give Iwaizumi the space he needs to really stretch finally, and with some shifts of his feet, Oikawa starts doing the same in idle motions. His arms don't move though, kneading mildly in place where they've come looped around Iwai's middle.]

Mm, it probably is... Our stuff is probably super damp still too. At least they should dry out soon, cotton is good for that. [They could sleep again for a bit longer, probably. Smacking his lips idly, that rain sounded nice enough to drink - but he knew better. It still smelled a bit fishy out there, through the wafted mist they could get through the door.]

Yeah well, you weren't going to do it properly by yourself.

[He only relaxes again when most of the kinks are out, and even then he reaches to check the blanket is still in place so it's not really relaxing properly. There's a slight shift backwards though, leaning into the hands that are kneading his skin pleasantly. It's not all that bad.

He reaches up after, thumb and finger holding Oikawa's jaw in place.]

Let me check your nose anyway. It doesn't look like it's going to be a problem now. [For now, anyway. If they go back out there who knows what'll happen. He'll just need to make sure they've got something to help if it does happen again.] Good.

[pinpointing]

[Sticking his tongue out briefly when Iwaizumi caught his face to hold his jaw in place and reinspect his nose, Oikawa stayed still - for maybe a few seconds, before winking cheekily at him. His nose felt fine, if not a bit gross and crusty for all the dried blood in it. Wriggling his nose then and making a face at feeling said crustiness, he shifted one arm free to try and slip it out from under the blanket without entirely dislodging it, so he could rub at it with a grimace.]

No, it should be fine. I think it was all the sneezing and the dried air aggravating, rather than an actual cold setting in.

[There's a beat while Oikawa sits there, Iwaizumi's hands on his face and his own tongue sticking out before he shifts his grip to yank on his tongue instead. It's gentle enough that it wouldn't hurt, but there's a warning glare with it. Stop being a dumbass.

It's only when there's confirmation that it's just the dried air that caused the problem that he sags back down against him, sighing softly.]

You're an idiot.

[Even if it's not his fault for getting caught in the rain like that. Even if it's not his fault the air here is Awful. He's still an idiot because he'd been forced to worry a little more. His forehead leans to press against his shoulder, trying to keep out of the way of whatever Oikawa needs to do with his nose now. Gross.]

Were you wooooorried about me, Iwa-chan?

[Laughing despite the warning glare and letting Iwai lean into his shoulder like that, Oikawa just turns his head to nuzzle right against the side and back of his neck before turning his head to yawn again and reach up, ruffling his hair affectionately.]

When we can get inside and get to a sink and I'll clean it out good and proper, I proomise~

Who would be? [Him, apparently, and while he does deny it he's also well aware Oikawa knows the truth. Whatever. That's not a big deal. His neck feels like it's crawling when he feels hair and skin rub there though, Oikawa's face feeling a little too close. His shoulders bunch up, tensing, before he jabs the other in the ribs.

What a gross idiot.]

You don't need to tell me. [The just do it is unspoken.]

[pinpointing]

[He could do more; Oikawa is well aware that with them honestly being alone, he could do things that would make Iwaizumi turn red and they are things he's really wanting to do; he's grateful for his comfort and company and really?

He makes him feel invincible whenever he is with him. Not just on the court.

Then Iwai is being embarrassed without turning red and Oikawa winces with a whine at the jab and squirms in place like he can escape it.]

Waaah, why so mean Iwa-chan! That hurts my heart, how could you say it when you were clearly worried!

[That would be rather shameless after the hell he just put him through, but since when has Oikawa been anything but shameless, to be honest. It's comfortable enough like this anyway, at least until he squirms.]

If I said it your ego would swell even more, and no one wants to deal with that.

[Not right now anyway, where things are calming down and they're wrapped up like this.]

But no one else is heeere, Ha-ji-me.

[His squirming quieted and his voice lowered, mouth brushing briefly at Iwai's ear when Oikawa turns his head back. It was unintentional still, but really. The only one who he wanted to deal with his ego was right here after all.]

You could say it all you wanted and no one would see me grinning about it but you.

[He jerks slightly at the use of his given name, rather than the dreadful nickname Oikawa still refuses to get rid of. He forces out a breath after, but it's not before he feels how close Oikawa has gotten and it does make his heart rate pick up. It would be difficult not to react.]

I'm glad they aren't. No one needs to see this.

[Look at the state they're in for a start. His skin feels hot now, especially now Oikawa is being weird about it all.]

You need to stop being so careless. [It's said quietly, like something he's said a million times already and something Oikawa has ignored a million and one times already. Useless. Pointless.]

[pinpointing]

[Shifting his arms with a softer chuckle, leaning to bump his nose against his temple, Oikawa watches him with that smile remaining. Now is probably not the best time to tell him, but there's a wonder of the next time they will ever get to be alone like this. There's just a sense of dread outside this place that he doesn't want to go back to.

But they'll have to go back eventually. They can't stay here forever, no matter how warm and dry and safe he feels with Iwaizumi.]

What am I doing that's so careless now, I'm just sitting here breathing!

[It's an automatic reaction when his head slowly bumps back, just enough to be felt, and it's so gentle compared to most of the other touches he gives the other. It's peaceful here, that's for sure.]

That's bad enough. [This time, however, there's a faint twitch to his own mouth. He doesn't mean it at all, and it's fine that Oikawa knows that.]

Your legs aren't numb, are they? [He has no idea how long they've been like this after all.]

[pinpointing]

No, my legs are fine. It's my butt that has a bucket indent in it by now.

[That little bump is all he needs to know that everything is still fine. Even if they're half bare and huddling under a dirty blanket, anything he might want to do is just as natural as they've always been. 100% in sync since they were toddlers. Shutting his eyes and smiling much warmer than before, Oikawa turns his head just the bit more to lean in and plainly kiss where his nose had been nuzzling.]

Is that something you can fix without getting up?

[That's what he gets for taking the bucket when the floor would have been fine too. Still as cramped, but at least that way they could have huddled without all of Iwaizumi's weight on him too. It's amusing though, because while that can't be uncomfortable... it's Oikawa suffering for it. Sort of.]

[Don't be stupid, of course it isn't something he can fix.]

[He kisses his temple again with a beaming expression; half glad Iwai didn't react, and half wanting him to react. Really, he wanted him to react positively if anything. His words had a cheeky grin spreading across his cheeks though, and Oikawa didn't mind any bit of suffering to make Iwaizumi honestly more comfortable between the two of them. He did a lot for him as it was.]

[This time he does pull away though, giving him a dry look for his attempts. There's no anger to his expression, which is something, but there is a little apprehension. As though Oikawa is taking a game too far and he doesn't have the heart to tell him off for it.

Not when it concerns their friendship. A quick joke about not trusting him is different, because they both know that isn't true. This though...]

Maybe if I kick it you'll get some life into it.

[He's not going to kiss it??????]

Kiss me instead, not my butt, you dope.

[Sticking his lower lip out in a little pout, but ready to back off and play it as a joke if Iwai gives him that expression again, Oikawa curled his arms a little tighter and slumped against him, head going down onto his shoulder.]

[It's just the situation is what he tells himself. It's easier to think that with those words swimming around in his head, but the arms tightening around him, making it harder to breathe, say otherwise.

He swallows hard, tensing up as his gaze shifts towards the spade they almost slammed into earlier, moves up to the shelves with all the garden equipment.

His hands feel sweaty.]

Oikawa?

[He can try and play it off as a joke, but really everything is already out there on the table -- Iwaizumi was always able to tell the difference between his facade and when he's being genuine.]

[Oikawa quieted when he felt the tension shift, when it went from the teasing playful nonsense they always engage in and Iwai was getting serious. Aah, he was really going to ask. Turning his head away so Iwaizumi couldn't see his face, Oikawa tried to keep himself relaxed from what might be coming. He played a little too close to the edge, whoops.]

Hmmm? [Drawing out the response and simply curling his fingers loosely against the blanket, against Iwai's back, he waited.]

Oi, look at me.

[He reaches up too, even if he's not sure what he's going to do yet. All he knows is that he can't make a decision like this, with Oikawa refusing to meet his gaze. He can feel his hands shift at his back, and the fact that he seems...nervous?

It's a little heartwarming.]

If you're being serious, don't hide away. I need to know.

[So his hand reaches around for his chin, trying to pull him up again so he can see him. He doesn't force him either though, just gives him a nudge in the right direction.]

[Shit. He could really tell. Sure, Iwai knows him better than anyone else, but it surprises Oikawa sometimes still. Tensing and not budging for a few moments, honestly suddenly embarrassed of himself for so boldly making a request like that, he slowly lifts his head with his ears coloring. Oikawa tried to hide behind an overly big smile, chuckling when he finally meets Iwaizumi's eye.]
